As this summer comes to an end, it is really heartening to see the Paralympics get more and more coverage and this year, it has been inspiring to see so many British athletes winning medals.

If you, or any of your friends and family have also been inspired by the athletes taking part in this year’s Paralympics and want to try a sport, you should visit the Active & Inclusive Swindon website.

They provide the latest information about lots of all-inclusive and disability physical activity sessions that are going on in and around Swindon.

Whether it is cycling, swimming, tennis or something else that you want to try. Just think – you could follow in Ben Fox’s footsteps and be Swindon’s next Paralympic superstar.

You can visit the website here: https://activeandinclusiveswindon.co.uk/.

There are now only a few days left to share your thoughts on Swindon Borough Council’s plans for a new children’s play area at Coate Water Park.

The new play area will be part of more than £400,000 worth of improvements being made to the park over the next few years, and will be located next to the Splash Park, offering easy access for visitors.

I am pleased that the Council have made a commitment to offer an inclusive and diverse range of play equipment to make the play area accessible to as man children as possible.

You have until 11:59pm on September 3rd to share your views, which can be done via: https://www.swindon.gov.uk/coatewaterconsultation.

Beat the Street is a fun, free initiative that will see Swindon transformed into a giant game. Earn as many points as possible for you and your team by walking, running, scooting, cycling or rolling between Beat Boxes across Swindon between Wednesday 15th and Wednesday 27th October 2021.

Children aged 11 and under play with a Beat the Street fob, which they will receive from their school. Anyone aged 12 and above plays with a Beat the Street card. You can create your account online, and once you have collected your card or fob, make sure you connect it to your account.

What better way to have fun, get outdoors, boost you physical and mental health, and see the sights of Swindon. So put on your walking shoes, pump up your bike tyres and get ready for the return of Beat the Street on September 15th.

You can find out more about Beat the Street and sign up today by visiting: https://www.beatthestreet.me/swindon/.

As the local Member of Parliament for South Swindon since 2010, I have always placed great priority on being visible, active and responsive to the views of fellow residents. That is why I have put together a new survey to ask you what local and national issues you would like me and my team to prioritise.

It only takes a couple of minutes to complete the survey and have your voice heard on the issues which matter most to you and your family.

You can fill out the survey by clicking on the following link: https://www.robertbuckland.co.uk/MyPlanSurvey.
