Eat Out To Help Out Scheme

Swindon MPs Robert Buckland and Justin Tomlinson are encouraging local businesses who are registering for the Government’s Eat Out To Help Out Scheme to get in touch with them so that they can offer further support.

Both Swindon MPs are also encouraging residents across the town to show their support for local businesses at this time.

The scheme, which was announced by Chancellor Rishi Sunak yesterday, will provide a 50% reduction for sit-down meals in cafes, restaurants and pubs across the UK from Monday to Wednesday every week throughout August 2020.  It is one of many measures announced by the Chancellor as part of the Plan for Jobs, as the Government enters the second part of a three-phase plan to secure the UK’s economic recovery from coronavirus.

South Swindon MP Robert Buckland and North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson explained: “As part of our ongoing Joint Campaign To Support Local Businesses, we are asking all of those who are registering for the Government’s Eat Out To Help Out Scheme to get in touch with us so that we can help to showcase our local businesses, promote this scheme and encourage local residents to visit one of the many brilliant local businesses we have here in Swindon.

“We are extremely fortunate to have so many excellent local businesses here in the town, who provide a huge and varied range of different foods. There is literally something for everyone and there has never been a better or more important time to visit them.”

Businesses can register for the Government's Eat Out To Help Out Scheme from 13th July by visiting https://www.gov.uk/guidance/register-your-establishment-for-the-eat-out-to-help-out-scheme?fbclid=IwAR0wx_9kiFp1qAZsgpSJjZv-MfWW7o6AmuCTN-IU_SZp5fgrXCNZ9xkZlxA#who-can-register
