A Met Office yellow weather warning for heavy rain is currently in place for Swindon, starting from 6pm today (1 November) until 11.59pm on Thursday (2 November).

  • What to expect during a yellow rain warning:
  • Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible.
  • Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.
  • Some communities may be cut off by flooded roads.
  • Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life.

Help yourselves and keep others safe

✅Please consider the following to keep yourself and those around you safe:

✅Stay informed: Keep an eye on the weather updates as warnings can change.

✅Secure outdoor items: If you have items outside, like patio furniture or garden tools, it might be a good time to bring them in or secure them.

✅Check before you travel: Check for updates about public transport services in advance in case of cancellations or delays.

❌Do not attempt to enter flooded water: If an area is flooded, be careful around water. Don't try to cross flooded areas on foot or in your car.

✅Check on neighbours: If you have elderly or vulnerable neighbours, or someone who might need help, check on them and see if they're okay if it is safe to do so.
